Know Thyself

We stand at crossroads now, dubious of the road ahead. The ‘early twenties’, a
time to wear the grownup shoes and face the world. I bet it’s an intimidating
time; decisions to take, places to go. This is the time to explore the world out
there! It might seem fearsome to take one step towards adulthood, where you
are responsible for your actions. But this is it, it’s now or never! It’s either pay
now and play later or play now and pay later. It’s time now to step out of the
ever protecting embrace of our parents.
I agree, this is a difficult transition. The worry of the future plagues our minds.
Am I doing the right thing? What if I hate my work? Are a few of the questions
everyone has. But this is the time we experiment. This is the time we explore;
not only the world outside, but what lies within. What makes us the individual
we are today. This is the time to embrace ourselves.
We are running a rat race, where Darwin’s principle of ‘survival of the fittest’ is
befitting. But does being fit means just being healthy in body? No, definitely
not! Health comprises the status of our body and soul, the soul which lies within
us. How many of us sit down on a peaceful day and just contemplate? You
might think who has the time to do that? But this ‘me time’ is all we need. We
have to figure out what we want, what we like and work towards it. We need to
dream, need to set our goals.
It may seem now that nothing’s going right, there is no certainty. But that’s life!
We need to find a mirage of certainty, and stability. We are the ones who can
create it! It’s in our hands. And to do this we need to discover ourselves. Before
we plunge into the world, we need to wear our armour of inner strength .
Because at the end of the day, you are the one who can urge yourself to get up
and stand tall. Keep on telling yourself ‘I am all you need!’ Once you discover
yourself, explore your strength and pitfalls, no one can stop you. Be your own
critic, so the world can’t make you feel bad. Mind you, don’t be crestfallen by
your fallacies but be determined to overcome them. At the end, you are the
sculptor of your life, make the most of the wet clay. It’s in your hand whether to
make a disfigured pot or to sculpt a beautiful statue!

Life goes on ....

Life is a dream for a few , a destination for others . I believe life is merely means to an end ; an end which is inevitable and fated . Some live it large , some just survive . For me life is - I still don't know . Many of us fail to understand our purpose , our goal . So we traverse through our life , taking everyday as it comes . Many plan their life out !What they want , what they desire ! But most of the time it doesn't work out the way we want . For instance , we don't get the dress we want or the food we like . We might not get admitted into a college we desire , or a geta decent job . But don't lose hope , hang in there ! Everything is  planned out for us and everything has it's own time and place !
My mantra in life is that 'everything happens for good ' . It might seem that things are  going wrong and astray but be patient . Even bad things now might lead to some good ones in the future .
Some are happy and satiated with what they have while many are ambitious , always aspiring for something more , something greater , something more expensive . For some life is having 'roti , kapda and makan ' , for some the luxuries and the pomp is a must .
Life is a something which cannot be defined accurately ! It's  meaning varies with every being .

Life as you know it
Looking back you realized , learnt and regretted
Your fool hardiness was berated .
Life doesn’t stop or hold back for you
It marches like a battalion towards it’s goal .
Those days in school when life was all play and no pay ,
When all you thought about was the lesson of the day !
School transformed into college where everyone was running a race
A race for a better tomorrow , a brighter future .
College continued for a few more years , the struggle for earing began thereafter .
Young minds full of zeal and dedication launched into this world with expectations.
By mid twenties you become, from a ‘me’  a ‘we’
A 9 to 5 job for some becomes a chore
For others , they aspire for something more .
By thirty a family and along with that added worry for the future
Makings us forget our present  , our now!
Long gone is  the promiscuous vow.
By 40’s and 50’s you start thinking about retiring ,
By 60’s your children settle and suddenly for them you become tiring .
For them you worked all your life , have been a stable pillar
They venture out into their own world , leaving you behind .
Some keep you with them while some forget , for them you were a filler .
As old age opens it’s arms for you , realisation strikes
That the little things in life , for which you once pined
Are long gone to never rearrive .
So don’t just run
Don’t regret it when all is done .
Don’t survive you life , don’t just keep dragging
Grab it , live it , love it , be happy .
Don’t wait back or your life will be lagging !
